My Chinoiserie obsession goes far beyond everyday decor. A tree adorned with ginger jars, Delft inspired Santas, nutcrackers, and trains has graced our family room for the last several years. I had been pairing that with pink and was being told from the man and man cub in my life that it was not festive or traditional enough. So, I changed it up in 2023 with red plaid accents instead, I love how it turned out. I added this wired plaid ribbon to create some drama in large curls (you could also use this tartan plaid one); along with some 2.5 " blue velvet ribbon, 4" wide ivory velvet wired ribbon, and a 2.5" wide wired gold glitter ribbon.

To bring in more red, I added large flocked red balls (similar to these), Santas and a few red drums for good measure. I used some of these fabulous lighted candles on the branch tips. I have used these on several different styles of trees and they go perfectly with just about everything. They have just the right amount of flicker to create a lovely ambiance. Loads more ornaments that were gifted to me and collected during travel also find a spot among the branches. I finished off the top of the tree with red and blue berries picks, blue velvet ball picks, golden "greenery" picks, and a splendid gold star topper.

You may have also noticed my favorite blue and white Kurt Adler Nativity, it is so delicate and perfect in every way. I own at least five other nativities and this is my favorite and most prominently displayed every year. Last but not least, my shelf would never be complete without my favorite pair of doggies (like these).
