Easy ideas to create a big or small football celebration. Even if you're a bandwagon Swiftie.
I'm a big football fan... really, I am
My Dad never had any sons, so he passed his love of football right down to me. I remember spreading out the sports section of our local newspaper across my bedroom floor on Super Bowl Sunday and becoming completely immersed in the special interest story on Steve Young (probably 1993 season). That day my interest in football turned into a real passion. I even donned dangling football earrings to church that day and got a few snickers from neighbors who didn't believe a little blonde girl in Utah was actually into football.
Now despite living in the LA market for the last 17 years, I am still a 49er fan and my other favorite team over the last decade has been the Kansas City Chiefs, so I'm a little torn this year. I think I'm going to double down on the Niners though.
Part of what I find joy in is making simple days, like Super Bowl Sunday, into a special celebration. Sometimes our celebrations include lots of people and sometimes they're more intimate. I hope you enjoy a few ideas I've come up with for you!
Step #1: Menu Ideas for your Super Bowl Extravaganza

First things first. You need to create a menu. Don't dread this part, it can be really fun. Keep it simple if you're just feeding a small group and expand if you've got a big group coming.
This photo is a simple menu I did last year: Italian Meats Sandwich with lots of vegetables made on a nice bakery bread and sliced into smaller portions, I purchased a football veggie tray at my local market, some fruit skewers, black olives (a fam favorite) and an onion dip with chips. Super easy and a great grazing board for the game.
This year I'll be doing a Mexican theme. I'm going to make shredded beef in the crockpot, with some great quality tortillas and grilled cheese on the outside to make them special. I'll add chips, salsa & guac on the side. I aways do vegetables and a fun dessert or a dessert grazing board. This is a great opportunity to have friends bring fun salsas, bean dips, or queso. An easy oven nacho would also be a great way to do a Mexican theme.
Another fun idea would be a Mississippi Pot Roast or Chicken made in the crockpot and made into sandwiches or sliders. Some great sides to go with that would be potato skins or wedges, sweet potato fries, deviled eggs, chips & dip.
Some great dessert ideas: cookie board with a variety of flavors, banana pudding (my favorite recipe is from Magnolia Bakery Cookbook, or brownies. This year I think a red velvet trifle or red velvet cupcakes would be so fun since both teams have red in their logos. Play around with it, have fun!
Now for serving. I have so many platters and boards, but I think my favorite way to serve up for Super Bowl is right on the ottoman or coffee table on large boards. I actually own a few large boards, similar to this or this. You can also go to your local big box hardware store and purchase a tabletop for a tool box for a very reasonable price, this is a great affordable hack!
No Super Bowl celly would be complete without my favorite football cutting boards, like this one here.
Step #2: Decorating with my FREE Super Bowl Printables

Get ready to make your celebration SUPER! I have made six free printable pages for you. Simply print and cut. I like to print using a matte photo paper. It's a little heavier weight and makes printable colors nice and bright. The exact one I used was this kind.
Download my FREE Super Bowl printables here from my Dropbox
Pages 1 & 2: Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers 2" round decals
Use a 2" paper punch like this to make it super easy!
Pages 3 & 4: 8.5x11 Super Bowl LVIII Sign that can be cut down to an 8x10 frame size
I've even got a Swiftie option for those in their "Football Era"
Pages 5 & 6: Team Pennant Flags for each team
These can either be attached to each other for a double sided flag or just put one on each dowel for single sided.
Other supplies you might want:
Wooden Dowels for pennant flags
Photo Paper (Matte)

P.S. I included a little something for all those Swiftie fans. I realize your new to this whole football thing, but I don't discriminate. Hope you enjoy!
